We arrived very nervous and excited at the TV studios. All of the Robot Wars staff and Roboteers soon made us feel comfortable. We shared benches with our favourite robots like Hypnodisc and Atomic.

The robot looked quite healthy before the fight.

We did lots of interviews, even some for Italian TV.

Philippa took a liking to Scott and would spend more time interviewing him than Tony and I. We were pushed out by an eight year old !

We actually won our first battle against a robot called Wowot (so called as the owners 2 year old son couldn't say robot!)

We were very lucky but eventually pushed Wowot into Sir Killalot in the CPZ. Sir K did the rest !

In our second battle we were up against a Robot with three years experience and it was very fast with a powerful flipper. (Bulldog Breed)

We expected to get beaten and were right. However we were a little disappointed as we had a problem with our air supply and so our weapon did not work. This left us like sitting ducks. We did manage to last the full five minutes, but the judge's decision was a formality. During the battle we were tossed into the air about 7 times, and came crashing down but the robot stood up to it and was able to carry on. Later in the fight one of our drives came a little loose with all of the crashing which meant we could only turn on one wheel. Unfortunately we turned into the house robot SHUNT (The one with the powerful axe!) He punctured our 2mm steel shell with ease, although the damage was all superficial.

A great experience, and I am sure we could have won the second fight if our weapon had been working. We believe that we forgot to tighten the gas bottle up, so that it all the gas leaked out.

The future

Never mind, we have already started on a robot for Series 6. A similar design but much faster ( 14 MPH against 6-8 mph this year ) with the weapons operating at much greater speed and higher pressure. We are also including a spinning cutting blade that is concealed until the wolf opens its mouth. We are  doing away with the fluffy sheep, that was trashed and burnt during our first battle - there was absolutely nothing left of it--- should make good TV though!!
